MEET TOM LAYSON

Tom Layson is KBTC's Managing Editor and comes to the job having worked as a television news reporter and anchor in Yakima, Terre Haute, Louisville, Sacramento-Stockton, Columbus and New York-New Jersey.

Tom anchored 13 hours of wall-to-wall live coverage in the NY/NJ market during 9-11 which is but one example of the many thousands of hours he’s been on the set or in the field delivering live coverage, interviewing Presidents and Governors, leading election and political coverage, and guiding viewers through many hours of breaking news from hostage crisis' to airplane crashes to natural disasters.

Tom received an Emmy for KBTC's Northwest Now, and has served a columnist for local newspapers, a commentator on local talk shows, and a media analyst for CBS radio.

Tom is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and currently resides in the Puyallup area.
