Your Public Records

March 21, 2014

Access to public records is an important part of keeping on eye on what the government is doing on your behalf. But every year, new rules and regulations are proposed designed to limit Washington's strong Public Records Act. In this edition of Northwest Now, we discuss several pieces of new legislation that affect your right to know, and the broader issues surrounding the continuing efforts to keep government transparent. Guests include Washington Coalition for Open Government President Toby Nixon, News Tribune Executive Editor Karen Peterson, 46th District Democrat Gerry Pollet and Assistant Attorney General for Open Government Nancy Krier. We also travel to Shoreline, Washington to meet a woman who took a major government agency to court in her quest gain access to public records.

Program is available online after broadcast.
