With taxpayer-funded colleges facing fiscal challenges, the several independent institutions in the South Sound find their enrollment requests are expanding, despite the somewhat misinformed public impression that their costs are prohibitive for the typical student. In actuality, the SSBR guests explained, a greater proportion of student support and financial aid may result in the student/family investment in a degree being somewhat lower in a private school.
