The Last Cowboy Painter

Fred Oldfield grew up on an Indian reservation and spent most of his youth traveling the Northwest in a covered wagon.  He would later become a cherished local artist, known for painting images of the American West he knew so well as a young man.  At 92 years young, Oldfield still paints theses iconic Western images, providing us with a window into the life of the American cowboy.

The grandfather of western painting still offers painting classes to children and adults and showcases his artwork at the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center, located on the Puyallup Fair Grounds.
