Position is part-time at 24 hours per week.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Graphic Designer participates in all design aspects for KBTC's creative services projects including programming, on air promotions, events, fundraising, membership, website, print and other related projects at KBTC.

Essential Duties

Essential Functions

  • Design, coordinate and produce all station collateral materials as needed for multiple departments including monthly printed program guide, ad layouts, invitations, print and digital advertising, A/V layouts for business to business and public presentations, motion and still graphics for on air.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and efficiencies as they become available.

Non-Essential/Other Functions

  • Accountable for keeping personal development up-to-date; adding to skills and knowledge through courses that may be available through the Bates Technical College courses, professional development committees, etc.
  • Participate actively and collaboratively on committees for college as needed including but not limited to staff recruitment, college councils, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and three years of relevant experience OR
  • Associates degree and one year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of and or experience with Premier Pro editing applications or related app
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects and InDesign; knowledge of and/or experience with Premier Pro editing applications or related application.

Allowable Substitution
If necessary, alternative combinations of education and experience may be evaluated by Human Resources for comparability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcast Design, Digital Media or related field
  • Two years of experience in a broadcast environment in layout, design
  • Two years of experience in motion graphic, print and website design environments specifically using Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
