PRIVACY POLICY

Donor Lists

Donor names/lists will not be sold, rented, loaned, traded, or otherwise transferred to outside parties. KBTC will periodically remind contributors or donors of this privacy policy

Member List Policy
Individuals are KBTC Public Television’s single most important source of support, and our relationship with our members is the highest expression of our mutual commitment to the KBTC mission: enrich lives through programs and services that entertain, educate, inspire and are locally relevant. As such, KBTC does not share, sell, rent, or trade the names, mailing addresses, email addresses, or telephone numbers of its members or former members with other organizations including political organizations or candidates.

Third Party Vendors
KBTC uses third party vendors to update member mailing addresses and telephone numbers, to print and mail letters, to process payments, to place calls to members, to answer member calls, and for other services related to communicating with members and former members. In no case do these vendors retain the member information or use it for any purpose other than that specified by KBTC.

Using Names from Other Organizations
KBTC does not sell, rent, or trade its own member list. However, in order to build our base of support, KBTC periodically rents or purchases list from other organizations to reach prospective members.

KBTC will not rent or purchase lists from political parties or candidates for political office.

KBTC will not rent lists from organizations where such an association may harm the goodwill and trust between KBTC and its members.

Complying with Accepted Standards
In its fundraising practices, KBTC complies with the laws and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service, the Communications Act, the policies of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the laws of the State of Washington, and the regulations of the United States Postal Service.

CPB COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANT (CSG) COMPLIANCE

Purposes and Rules of Executive Session / Closed Meeting
The Board may go into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing items provided for in Washington State Law – RCW 42.30.110(1):
a) (not applicable to education)
b) to consider the selection of a site or the acquisition of real estate by lease or purchase…;
c) to consider the minimum process at which real estate will be offered for sale or lease…;
d) to review negotiations on the performance of publicly bid contracts…’
e) (not applicable to education)
f) to receive and evaluate complaints or charges brought against a public officer or employee;
g) to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to review the performance of a public employee;
h) to evaluate the qualifications of a candidate for appointment to elective office;
i) to discuss with legal counsel representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement actions, …. or litigation or potential litigation ….
No action is taken during Executive (Closed) Session.
